A cistern that keeps running or a dripping tap may seem minor, but they waste water all day and usually get worse. Most are fixed in one visit by replacing the part that has failed: the cistern mechanism, the tap cartridge or a washer.
Besides these quick repairs, we find and fix leaks, install electric water heaters, add new water points and reseal showers and baths. If the problem is bigger, we have technical backing to look into it.
Most common plumbing repairs
Cistern that leaks or keeps filling
Almost always the fill valve or the flush mechanism (the button and its seal) has failed. We replace the faulty one, or both if they are old, and set the water level.
Dripping tap
Mixer taps usually need a new cartridge; two-handle taps need new washers. We replace the part or, if the tap is badly worn, suggest a new one.
Leaks and damp patches
We find where the water comes from, whether a joint, a flexible hose or a pipe, and fix it. If the leak comes from a common area or a neighbour, we tell you so you can let the right person know.
Electric water heaters
We install new water heaters, remove the old one and replace the safety valve when it drips.
Resealing showers and baths
We remove old or mouldy silicone and reseal so water doesn’t get through the joints.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do until the leak is repaired?
Turn off the stopcock for that area or the whole home and, if water is near sockets or appliances, switch off that circuit too. Then send us photos through the form.
Do I need a new toilet if the cistern leaks?
Usually not. Replacing the fill valve or the flush mechanism, which are sold separately, is enough.
Why is there a damp patch on my bathroom ceiling?
It usually comes from the flat above: a shower or bath seal, a drain or a pipe. If the patch grows when the neighbour uses their bathroom, let them know and send us photos so we can check where it comes from.
